The CoSA Dance and Instrumental Music conservatories will collaborate with professional musicians from the San Diego Symphony for a "one-night only" special engagement titled "H2o". The performance will take place Saturday May 31 at 7:00 p.m. in the Coronado Performing Arts Center at CHS. This unique evening will combine artistic movement and choreography accompanied by live music answering the question, "What is the meaning of water?" Taking on the current environmental drought crisis in California, H2o offers up an artistic perspective to a political and scientific concern. The STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) Incubator for Innovation "WATER" project currently underway in San Diego county is the perfect platform to integrate the arts community into joining the dialogue on an issue that affects us all.

Selected members of the San Diego Symphony will join CoSA musicians performing works by Phillip Glass and the Silk Road Ensemble as well as Debussy, Deslandres, and Beethoven. Accompanied by this diverse music, the CoSA Classical and Contemporary Dancers express their personal experiences of water in nature, life and society through choreography directed by the award-winning CoSA Dance faculty.

The CoSA Woodwind Ensemble will be featured in this performance, playing Deslandres' "Trois Pieces en Quintette," as well as advanced pianists playing "Reflects dans l'Eau" by Debussy and Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata, "Pathetique." Adding another artistic medium to the mix, the evening will also feature original films made by Nils Marsolais of the CoSA Digital Media department juxtaposed with the movement and live musical performances.

This performance is one evening only, May 31, at 7:00 p.m. at the CHS Performing Arts Center theatre. Tickets range from $6-$14 and are available by clicking the "Buy Tickets' link on the home page or below, or at the door 45 minutes before the show begins.
