Grant Funds New Classes in Clean Energy Engineering and Gaming Software Programming

Shane Schmeichel, CHS assistant principal, announced this week that a few San Diego County schools have been awarded a $13.1 million Career Pathways Trust Grant, and CHS is one of them! Mr. Schmeichel has been working collaboratively for months with a few other districts to build and then submit this huge statewide competitive grant. This grant will allow CHS to create pathways for software design for gaming and clean energy engineering solutions.

Funds will be allocated on a per-pupil percentage using year 1 and year 2 projected enrollments submitted by our district during the grant writing process. The estimated amount of funding our district may expect to receive based on these calculations will be approximately $32,130, which will fund two classes.
