"With Spring in full swing, seniors are reaching an end to the anxious process of college acceptance as the last of the letters -- filled with congratulations or condolences -- start to pile into their mailboxes. CHS's CoSA and art department have influenced many to pursue a more artistically inclined higher education, with seniors applying or planning to attend film and art schools, and music and theatre programs.
Senior Kylie Billings has been drawn to New York University since the eighth grade and her first exposure to Saturday Night Live, eager to reside to close to its studios and 30 Rockefeller Plaza. She was accepted in February to Tisch School of Arts at NYU, which boasts famous alumni including Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan, one of her major influences, among many others, including directors and writers Paul Feig, Sofia Coppola, Quentin Tarantino, Tina Fey, Kristen Wiig, John Mulaney and Donald Glover. Billings submitted a collaborative horror film made by her and senior Charlie Mendoza, as well as a more comedic screenplay in order to 'show diversity with different genres,' said Billings. She hopes this variety of interests and talent will allow her to become a writer or producer for sitcoms or dramas."
