Rob Henderson spends a summer in the Big ApplePosted by: nancym 2 years ago
Rob Henderson is currently a senior in his fourth year in the Digital Arts Conservatory. Before entering CoSA Rob participated in filmmaking and was a part of the broadcasting team at KCMS at Coronado Middle School. It was there that Rob realized that he could pursue filmmaking not only as a hobby, but also as a career. This realization was strengthened when he had the opportunity to intern during the summer at e.Coronado as a video-photographer.
One of the most amazing experiences for Rob during his CoSA journey was spending four weeks during the summer of 2015 at the New York University Film Program. Only 50 students from around the country were selected to attend this program, in which students received college credit to work directly with NYU professors. While there he worked on short films, further solidifying his desire to attend New York University after graduating from CHS. In fact, it was Rob’s interest in the university, and the time he spent browsing their website, that led him to discover and apply for the summer program.
Rob highly recommends the Coronado School of the Arts (CoSA) Program to any student interested in Digital Arts. His advice to other students is to use their time wisely! Rob feels that there is a direct correlation between the effort put in and the results received from a program like CoSA. He also realizes that with the freedom to create and explore, it is important to put in the effort and work hard. “CoSA is what you make it,” says Rob.
After graduating from Coronado High School in June 2016, Rob Henderson plans to attend a four-year university, with his targets set on New York University, Loyola Marymount University, or University of Texas, Austin. He will be studying filmmaking and film production. We have no doubt that Rob will make his dream a reality!
