This year, CoSA seniors received more than 25 college scholarships worth over $250,000! The awards and scholarships included: Merit Scholarships from Boston University, University of Arizona, University of Oklahoma, Pace University, University of San Diego and others, Chancellor Scholarship (Chapman University), San Diego Foundation Scholarship, Regents Scholarship (UC Irvine), USC Trustee Scholarship (full tuition), Presidential Scholarship (Hofstra and Hampshire Universities), Non Satis Scire Scholarship (Hampshire College), and many other scholarship awards for leadership and talent.
CoSA graduates were accepted to more than sixteen California UCs or CSUs including: UC Berkeley, UCLA, UCSB, UCSD, UC Davis, UC Santa Cruz, UC Irvine, Cal Poly SLO, San Diego State University, Cal State Fullerton, CSU Chico, San Francisco State Univ., Cal State Northridge, Sonoma State, CSU Long Beach, Humboldt State Univ. and CSU San Marcos.
The list of private universities extending acceptances to CoSA seniors was lengthy, and included both well-known and smaller liberal arts colleges. CoSA students were admitted to Princeton University; University of Southern California (USC), Loyola Marymount University (LMU), Biola University, Chapman University, Pomona College (all in Southern California); Boston University, Emerson College, and Northeastern University (all in Boston); Rice University, TCU, SMU (in Texas); University of Denver; Rochester Institute of Technology; and Washington University in St. Louis. A host of outstanding niche colleges also courted CoSA students: Ursinus College and Juniata College in Pennsylvania, St. Andrews College and Elon University in North Carolina, Randolph College in Virginia, Pace University in New York, Furman University in South Carolina, and others.
For students wishing to attend State Universities -- just not California state -- the choices were plentiful: University of Arizona and Northern Arizona University, Montana State, Colorado State University at Boulder, University of Washington, Penn State, Ohio State, Georgia Tech, University of Michigan, Montclair State University NJ, University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and others.
Many students applied and were accepted to Arts specialty colleges and universities including: NYU Tisch School of the Arts, Cornish College of the Arts, San Francisco Art Institute, California College of the Arts, Pratt Institute, Art Center College of Design, Otis College of Art and Design, The Hartt School at University of Hartford, Connecticut, and Johnson and Wales University.
The faculty and staff at CoSA, the members of the CoSA Foundation and all the contributors and volunteers who donate their time and money to keep CoSA at the forefront of arts education are extremely proud of our 2014 graduates.
