Adam Sheehan - Sports MuralistPosted by: nancym 1 year, 1 month ago
DigArts junior Adam Sheehan is in demand for his graphic design skills. From shoes to walls, he can cover them all with exceptionally creative and compelling graphic design. Below is an account of a summer project. Also included are some shoes he created for a project last spring.
Near the end of the school year - Adam was invited to paint a mural on the back of the home dugout at the school’s baseball field down on the Strand. A parent of one of his team mates painted and prepped the wall prior to his commencing on the project. Adam developed several alternative ideas on his laptop – then settled on the one that had the most graphic appeal. Beginning after dark on an evening in mid-July he projected the image from his laptop onto the back of the dugout. He then traced the design onto the wall using a soft pencil. Using blue painter’s tape he masked off the design and commenced painting by hand. The whole project took around 24 hours over the course of 5 days. The mural is a big hit with his coach and the players. Several team parents have also paid him compliments on the new addition to the field.
