Broadway Actors Teach Master ClassPosted by: nancym 1 year, 3 months ago
Andrew Samonsky and Kate Reinders (who happen to be husband and wife) came, with baby, to teach a Master Class to CoSA's musical theatre students in preparation for CoSA's production of THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD. Andrew has appeared on Broadway as Neville Landless in The Mystery of Edwin Drood. He has also played Kenneth Ormiston in Scandalous and Lt. Cable in the Tony Award-winning revival of South Pacific. Most recently he played Robert Kincaid in the first national tour of The Bridges of Madison County. He has acted in plays and musicals around the country, and locally at La Jolla Playhouse as Captain Phoebus in the American premiere of The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Joshua in Little Miss Sunshine. He is also a soloist with symphonies across the country, including the New York Philharmonic and Boston Pops.
Kate Reinders has performed as lead and understudy in several Broadway shows, including Wicked where she portrayed Glinda, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Into the Woods, Gypsy, and Something Rotten!.
The couple shared their knowledge and experience of Broadway and musicals in general, and The Mystery of Edwin Drood in particular to an absolutely spellbound musical theatre conservatory.
