Dance Alumni "Migrate" back to CoSA - Perform One Night Only!Posted by: nancym 2 years ago
This Saturday January 21 at 7 pm in the Coronado Performing Arts Center, more than twenty of CoSA's Dance alumni are performing Migration, a work by Betzi Roe. Here are the alumni and what they've been up to:
Lucas Aguilar (2015) is attending Mira Costa College, working at Legoland and trains in Krumping, Pop-Locking and Hip-Hop in order to compete in local dance battles.
Garrett Allen (2011) trained extensively with Lindley-Lopez Circus, teaches at the Sophia Isadora Academy, and has been touring and performing as an aerialist and contortionist in circus shows and corporate events.
Beatrice Benson (2015) is studying English at Mesa College, continuing her dance training, and teaching English to elementary students in Tijuana at Colegio la Esperanza.
Angela Bevevino (2010) continued her dancing at Dominican University's Alonzo King LINES program, graduating Magna Cum Laude, and is currently dancing in the Bay Area.
Madeleine Chiba(2015) is at San Diego State University, studying Child and Family Development. She is continuing her dance training and works at a dance studio.
Caroline Courtney (2012) received a BFA in Dance from UC Irvine and is part of PGK Too, the apprentice company of PGK Project, and is working on her Pilates certification and teaching dance to kids.
Isabel Diaz-Brady (2012) received a BA in World Arts and Cultures and a minor in Italian Language from UCLA. She continues dancing and works for United Talent Agency in LA.
Joshua Dunn (2011) graduated from SUNY Purchase in 2016 and has been freelancing in New York City in various dance projects, stage and music videos.
Sarah Faulkner (2008) has pursued a career as a barber for the Marine Corps and is a licensed cosmetologist. She studied American Literature in college is a mother of a 4 yr old.
Melinda Gafford (1998) received a BA in Dance, became a certified Pilates Instructor, started the first Stand Up Paddle Board Pilates class in San Diego and participated in Laura Segura's Liquid Flux as a SUP Pilates performer.
Samantha Galaz (2011) is a recent graduate of USC with a BA in International Relations and was part of a Latin Fusion Dance Team. She will be working at UCSD in February.
Forrest Harrop (2000) is an avid yoga instructor at Core Power who spent his time after high school developing his dance background and somatic knowledge.
Mali Hinsley (1998) started out as an Irish dancer and went on to obtain degrees from SDSU, Monterrey Institute of Technology, and UC Berkeley.
Lindsay Kullmann (2011) graduated Cum Laude from UCLA with a degree in World Arts and Cultures/Dance and Visual and Performing Arts Education. She is currently living and working in Los Angeles.
Sulijah Learmont (2007) received a BFA in Dance from UC Santa Barbara, spent time in NYC training and performing in independent projects and recently performed with somebodies dance theater in SILO at the 2016 SD Fringe Festival.
Sadie Lindley (2008) trained with her mother at the Lindley-Lopez circus and teaches at the Sophia Isadora Circus Academy, she has been touring and performing in circus shows and corporate events as an aerialist and contortionist.
Emiko Nelson (2011) graduated from UCLA with a BA in English and a minor in European Studies. She is currently working on her high school teacher credentialing program.
Heather Noonan (2016) is a freshman at SDSU studying Communication. Dance is still her passion and she takes classes and performs whenever she can.
Vabianna Santos (2002) received a BFA in Interdisciplinary Sculpture in 2007 from Maryland Institute College of Art and an MFA in Visual Arts from UCSD in 2013. She is a visual artist exhibiting and performing nationally.
Lidia Velez Velasquez (2016) is a first year Dance Major at SDSU. She has an interest in pursuing a career in Dance Therapy.
