Curious about CoSA?

Come to the Open House and open the door to your future in the arts. The Open House is for all interested students and their families! Students from around San Diego County who are in 8th, 9th and 10th grade with a craving for creativity are invited.  Coronado School of the Arts is an award-winning public arts conservatory located on the campus of Coronado High School.  CoSA nurtures artistic excellence, and is open to all San Diego County students who have a passion for the arts and meet the admission requirements for the school.

                Coronado School of the Arts (CoSA) will hold its annual Open House on Thursday November 12 from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. in the Black Box at Coronado High School, 650 D Avenue, Coronado CA  92118. There is no prior registration required.  At the Open House students and parents will have the opportunity to meet the award-winning faculty from CoSA’s six conservatories: 

  • Classical & Contemporary Dance
  • Digital Arts – Animation, Filmmaking, Graphic Communication, Game Design and Broadcasting
  • Instrumental Music
  • Musical Theatre & Drama
  • Technical Theatre
  • Visual Arts. 


Tours will be offered of CoSA’s state-of-the art Performing Arts Center, including the 570-seat main stage theatre and the more intimate Black Box theatre, the broadcast studio, the digital music lab, dance studios and more.

Students and parents will learn about CoSA’s application and audition/interview process, and be able to register for the Prospective Student Workshop to be held on January 28th.  

CoSA’s students are trained and prepared to work in their artistic fields, and their inquiring, creative minds are in demand in today’s highly competitive college applicant pool. COSA’s students have been accepted to the nation’s most prestigious colleges and universities, including Massachusetts Institute of Technology  (MIT), Harvard University,  Berklee School of Music, UCLA and the UCLA School of Theatre, Film and  Television, Northwestern, Stanford, USC, NYU, CalArts, Cornish and many others.
