Siri Collins - From Coronado to ChicagoPosted by: nancym 2 years ago
Siri Collins, Musical Theatre class of 2012, will be graduating from The Theatre School at DePaul University in Chicago with a B.F.A. in Theatre Arts - Directing, and a B.A. in Media Arts. Wow!! Congratulations, Siri!
While in Chicago, Siri assistant directed two productions, including the Chicago premiere of Esperanza Rising, which was performed at a downtown theatre for thousands of Chicago Public Schools children. Siri is also an accomplished musician, and performed as a violinist in two productions with Chicago Playworks.
In May, Siri will be directing her first world premiere and full-length production, Crisis Comedy Hour, which is a culmination of her thesis on existentialist comedy and the value of musical theatre skills in directing non-musical plays. Wow again! She's also been working as a photographer and art preparator with the DePaul Art Museum, which led her to work with many Chicago visual and performance artists, as well as taking part in the EXPO Chicago, selling art and photographing the Steve Turner LA booth.
Siri says, "In July, I'll be making the move back west to Los Angeles, where I'll be working with YouTube channel Mirth Machine while I try to build my freelance career as a director/actor/photographer/writer/anything I can do to keep working in the arts!"
We have no doubt you'll succeed, Siri, and hope to see you back for a visit at Coronado School of the Arts!Share on Twitter Share on Facebook
