Or mail to:

Coronado School of the Arts

Step Two: Prepare for your Audition, Portfolio Review or Interview.

Prepare, prepare, prepare! We will contact you by email to inform you of the date/time of your audition/portfolio review.

There are several things you can do to get ready for your audition and/or portfolio review and interview:

  • Come to the CHS & CoSA Preview for Out of District Students/Parents on January 21, 2019 from 6 – 7:30 p.m.
  • If you are a CMS student, you and your parent are invited to the CHS Electives & CoSA preview on Jan 21 at 2 pm.
  • Carefully review the “Interview, Portfolio and/or Audition Tips” provided at the end of each application form.
  • Prepare your portfolio with materials that portray your talent and abilities (if you are required to bring a portfolio).
  • Practice your audition song and monologue (if applicable).
  • Role-play an interview situation with your parents or friends or a teacher.

We will contact you by email to inform you of the date/time of your audition/portfolio review.  Please give us the courtesy of notification if your plans change or you need to reschedule your interview time.

Step Three: You will be notified of your acceptance status by email.  Admission Decisions will be released by March 13. 2020

All students and parents will be notified of CoSA acceptance status by March 13.

Your status will be one of the following:

  • For students residing in Coronado: Accepted or Not Accepted. If not accepted, you may be encouraged to apply to a different conservatory if the faculty feels it is a better opportunity for you.
  • For students residing outside the Coronado Unified School District (IDTs or Inter-District Transfer students):

            a)Conditional offer of Admission pending completion and approval of the IDT process;

            b)Not Admitted.

If Accepted to CoSA, your Acceptance Letter will contain detailed information on how to begin the IDT process. All IDT applications are reviewed by the CUSD district office, and they will notify you of your IDT status.

  • If a conservatory has filled up, you may be put on a Waiting List, pending space availability.

Step Four:  Accept or decline your admission to CoSA as soon as possible.

Your acceptance letter will specify a deadline for you to accept or decline your admission to CoSA. Please respond by the deadline,  or you may forfeit your spot in CoSA.
